Q. How do I adjust
my screen resolution?
A. Right click
on a blank area of your desktop and select properties. A window
will pop up. Depending on which version of windows you are
using, you will see a screen similar to what you see below (this is a
Windows XP screenshot). Click on the tab that says SETTINGS
To adjust your resolution, use the slider bar that says "Screen
Resolution" move it across to the desired setting and click
apply. Windows will adjust the display and give you the chance to
accept the changes. If your screen goes garbled, just wait for 15
seconds and it will return to its previous state. A garbled screen
usually means that your monitor can not display the resolution you
chose. As a general rule. 15" monitors should be set at 800X600,
17" monitors 1024X768 and if you are lucky enough to have a
larger monitor, then choose a resolution that is easy on your eyes.
There are other factors that may influence what resolution you can
set. Such as the type of video card installed and the refresh rates of
your monitor. As always, if you get stuck, give us a call.

Q. I have an anti
virus program that was installed when I purchased my PC 2 years ago.
Why did I get a virus?
A. This is a
very common question we get. New viruses are written every day and it
is important to keep your Anti virus software up to date by
downloading the latest virus patterns for your particular Anti-virus
software. Most anti virus software will only give you 12 months worth
of free updates, after which time you will have to pay a fee to the
vendor to download current updates. We can set your PC up to remind
you to download your updates on a regular basis and to get maximum
protection from your software.
